It’s been a couple of years since a young boy in our town lost his life because another young man made the tragic choice to get behind the wheel of his car and drive drunk.  Two families’ lives shattered because of a horribly bad decision.  The young people in our town all knew the boy killed and they are asking “Why?”  Why did God allow this to happen?  They want justice, not mercy for the accused drunk driver.  Both mothers are grieving for their sons…one gone forever, and another who will likely spend his young life behind bars.

Grief is a multifaceted response to loss, particularly to the loss of someone or something to which a bond was formed. Keeping on, keeping on

2015 has been steeped in grief and its not even December. In February my mom passed, May brought the passing of my 47 day old nephew, June brought the passing of my father in law, and August brought the passing of my dad. I have been struggling with depression, having had so much hit us has taken a toll on us. I am doing my best to focus on God.



Father, I need strength to hold on to you. You are able. I do not understand but sometimes we do not have to understand the parts of your will that are happening, we just have to trust you and do what you guide us to do. I trust you, I love you. Lead me and guide me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
