The Faith We Need to Have

Matthew 9:22 – 22 Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart,(A) daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.”(B) And the woman was healed at that moment

I love this verse (I say that a lot lol.). This woman knew that if she could just touch the hem of Jesus’ garment that she would be healed. Wow, the faith she had in that. Can you imagine a sick woman with one determination to touch the hem of someone’s garment? I can see it in my head, her focus on his garment as she tuned out everything else around her.

I wanna be that single-minded in my faith. Faithfully and joyfully following the Lord. I strive to have faith in all times, but I find sometimes I get down in spirit and mind. This verse reminds me to not be down, but be of courage and have faith. The more I feel down the deeper I need to dive into God’s word and pray and meditate.

Psalm 84:11 –  For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

I have faith because He will not withhold good things from those who walk uprightly. I am not perfect, but I love the Lord with all my heart and I strive daily to walk more uprightly than the day before. God has truly blessed me, he continues to bless me. All He asks is that I have faith in Him, lean on His understanding, and follow His commandments.

Heavenly Father, I come before you this day uplifted by Your word. I love you, I thank you for the multitude of blessings you have bestowed upon my family. I devote myself to loving and following you faithfully, to having faith like the woman in Matthew 9:22. I pray for renewed strength and faith for your children this day, no matter where they are in their walk with you. Pour your spirit over them in a renewing of their whole being. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

He is with you…..

Isaiah 43:2
We belong to the Lord. He never promised us we wouldn’t feel the heat from the flames or get wet from the water as we go through this life. He did say he would be with us. His word tells us that the water will not overwhelm us and the fire won’t burn or scorch us. He will not leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Carry his word in your heart today, let his promises soothe your heart and soul.

Father, I pray today that through the trials and tribulations we are walking through that a renewed knowledge of your presence fill us. Your word promises that you will not leave us, forsake us, let the waters overwhelm us, or let the fire burn/scorch us. Renew our strength as we cling to you. You are our God and we love you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Joy Cometh…..

Pslam 30:5

Psalm 30:5 – For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

I love this verse, joy cometh….love that. It’s a promise to me that the trials and tribulations I am facing will end and my joy will come. It’s easy to lose yourself in the battle, to be all “Why me?”. Or when we do something wrong and are facing the consequences of that. Seriously, we have all been there, none of us are perfect (Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God). The bible doesn’t say that some have, it says ALL have. No competition there, we all fall short. He loves us and forgives us, because our God is faithful (1 John 1:9) and he will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). I hold on through the trials and tribulations because I know that when it’s over that my joy will come. And that doesn’t mean directly in the morning. Sometimes your morning doesn’t come for some time, but always remember that the morning will come and your joy will be there.

Abba, we love you and thank you for this day. Though we may fall short, you are faithful and there to help us get back on track. Your love and mercy is so much more than I feel I deserve sometimes. I thank you for always being there, for holding me up in times when I wasn’t at my best. I ask forgiveness for my sins and strength to hold on to your unchanging hand always. I know, Father, that my joy will come. I thank you for it now, and I will thank you for it when it gets to me. In Jesus Holy name I pray, Amen.

The Heart…..

The heart……mine has been battered, broken, bruised, shredded, and tread upon by people I thought cared for me over the years. When your heart has been hurt, you feel weak, like you’ve been brought so low. Sometimes there will be real, physical, pain. Take it to the Lord.

2 Corinthians 12:9 –  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

God can take that weak and battered heart and make it whole. Cry out to the Lord, even when all you can do is cry. Cry to him, he will hear you.

Psalm 102:1 – Hear my prayer, Lordlet my cry for help come to you.

Psalm 130:1 – Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;

Cry out to him from the depths of where you are, cry out with your whole heart. He is waiting to help. He wants to help. He knows what you need before you even ask, he has it ready, but you must come to him.

1 Samuel 16:7 – But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

He doesn’t look at your clothes or hair. He sees your heart.

1 Kings 8:61 –  And may your hearts be fully committed to the Lord our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time.”

1 Chronicles 16:10 – Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

Psalm 27:8 – My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.

Psalm 28:7 – The Lord is my strength and my shield;  my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

Psalm 51:17 – My sacrifice, O God, is[a] a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.

Listen to your heart when it cries out to give its hurt to the Lord. Take your sacrifice before the Lord and let him mend you as only he can. He wants to be sought with the whole of your heart.

Heavenly Father, I come before with a heart that is yours. You took the pieces and made a whole heart where I could only see pieces and a mess. I thank you, Father, for the heart that beats within my chest. This heart will strive to follow you, minute by minute, each day until you call me home. May your spirit touch those this day whose heart it not fully following you. Let them see whatever it is that they are holding back or what may be holding them back. Let them seek your face with all their heart and soul. May they be renewed and drawn closer than ever to you. Mend their hurt. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Prayer Request…..

My mom has cancer….stage 4….she has been taking chemo. She had a severe allergic reaction (her throat swelled shut) to the strong chemo so she has only been able to take a mild chemo. We found out that it isn’t doing any good and that her cancer has spread to her lungs. It started in the stomach and is now in the lungs and some lymph nodes as well. No more chemo. They have put her on a medicine to try to shrink the cancer. Please pray for my mom. I have faith that God will give us the strength to weather this no matter where it goes. I don’t know if it’s her time or not but God does. I kmow that healings for some are on earth and others receive healing in Heaven. I want to see her healed on earth but I have to trust and have faith in God’s plan. Pray for strength, comfort, and earthly healing (if it’s God’s will). This is a battle that is far beyond human fighting.

2 Chronicles 20;15

exodus 14;14

Precious Heavenly Father, I come before you with my mother held out. This illness that she is battling is taking a toll. The doctors are near the end of their options and I don’t want to lose her. I ask only for your will over the situation. I do not want to ask for anything that isn’t in your will. give us strength to see this battle through. Touch her body and give her peace of body, mind, and spirit. Let her feel so much of your love, Abba, that she is able not dwell on her illness but on You. This fight is Yours, we can do no more. I give her cancer battle to You. The Living God. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Hope Versus Confidence

From the Heart of God...

unshakeble confidence

“Many say, Oh, that we might see some good!  Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O Lord.  You have put more joy and rejoicing in my heart than they know when their wheat and new wine have yielded abundantly.  In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust.” (Psalm 4:6-8)

Hope is the beginning of faith.  The Bible says “faith is the substance of things HOPED for.”  But hope isn’t confident, it’s just hopeful.  “many say, oh, that we MIGHT see some good!”  Hope is all that people have who don’t have an intimate relationship with the Lord.

Confidence is being fully persuaded in someone or something.  Confidence comes from knowledge–intimate knowledge.  They say that “knowledge is power.”  Well it is true.  To have knowledge of God in a personal relationship is the…

Meditation/Betty’s Verse Of The Day/1-16-15

Betty's Verse Of The DAY

Meditation/Betty’s Verse Of The Day/1-16-15

I can do everything through him who gives me strength. — Philippians 4:13
Before I decided what verse to use this morning, the verse above came to me way before I decided. So, I believe God is trying to tell me something. There are things I need prayer for that are unspoken and I ask for you to keep praying for me and others on the lists we send out. We walk a walk that isn’t really safe, because we walk with Jesus persecution will come, but this is a good time to use the verse above, Jesus gives us the strength to keep going, and every morning is a new start, today let us not forget who actually gave us life. Love Betty B..Let’s pray..
Precious Lord O how we love you, your love for us is everlasting and it reaches to the sky…

Kindness Gone Viral

A Heart For God "Devotions & Bible Studies"-Karrie Wilson

Kindness Gone Viral

By Mart De Haan
Read: Mark 10:13-16

Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. —Mark 10:14
News of a simple act of kindness on a New York subway has gone around the world. A young man, head covered by a hooded sweatshirt, fell asleep on the shoulder of an older passenger. When someone else offered to wake the young rider, the older man quietly said, “He must have had a long day. Let him sleep. We’ve all been there.” Then he let the tired fellow rider sleep on his shoulder for the better part of the next hour, until the older man gently eased away to get up for his stop. In the meantime, another passenger snapped a photograph and posted it on social media, and it went viral.

The man’s kindness seems to…
