Pretty Wrapping Paper……

 When they had come, he looked on Eliab [the eldest son] and said, Surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him. But the Lord said to Samuel, Look not on his appearance or at the height of his stature, for I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. – 1 Samuel 16:6-7

We’ve all felt the pull of that gorgeous, have to have it; dress, jacket, shoes, etc. You see where I am going. The outer layer is just packaging, like a Christmas or birthday gift that’s been wrapped. While we may look and see the pretty wrapper we can’t wait to tear it open to see what that pretty wrapper has hidden beneath. The Lord sees what the fleshly wrapper conceals from the naked eye, he sees the heart and thoughts of a person. He knows if you truly, in your heart, are a loving and giving person…..or if you just have a pretty wrapping paper trying to hide the heart that isn’t pure.

Abba, today Father I thank you that the wrapper isn’t what you look at because I am no beauty queen. But Lord I know you see my heart and I pray that Lord where I fall short that you work in me and through so that I can be better. I pray you do this for all your children Lord. I love you Abba. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

More on Forgiveness

 But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, To show that you are the children of your Father Who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike]. For if you love those who love you, what reward can you have? Do not even the tax collectors do that? And if you greet only your brethren, what more than others are you doing? Do not even the Gentiles (the heathen) do that? You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect. – Matthew 5:44-48

 But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses. – Matthew 6:15

 Then Peter came up to Him and said, Lord, how many times may my brother sin against me and I forgive him and let it go? [As many as] up to seven times? Jesus answered him, I tell you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seven! – Matthew 18:21-22

Father, we have all struggled with being offended and having to forgive the offender at some point in our lives. Please help us as we try to be more Christ like. Help your children be forgiving as we should. To forgive is to be forgiven. Help us to love and forgive our enemies, friends, family, and anyone else who may offend us. Help us to be less easy to offend and quicker to forgive when we do get hurt or offended. In Jesus Holy name I pray, Amen.

Do Not Fear

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 35:4

say to those with fearful hearts,
    “Be strong, do not fear;
your God will come,
    he will come with vengeance;
with divine retribution
    he will come to save you.”

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives outfear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Abba, there are so many times in your word that we see ‘do not fear’, ‘fear not’, ‘no fear’. Today, Father, I pray that those who battle fear, as we all do at times being human, I pray that they fully come into the realization that they need fear naught of this earth as long as they walk with you. Pour your spirit of peace and love upon them and give them the sweet relief that can only come you Lord. Let them read the scriptures and feel them in their hearts with such a powerful impact that all worries and fear flee and the peace you left us is all they feel. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Trials and Forgiveness

 Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing. If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord, – James 1:2-7 (Amp)

 Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your failings and shortcomings. – Mark 11:23-26

Abba, In our recent trials I find that I was offended. Offended by a family member, not the first time either. I am working to forgive them, I am struggling and I ask for your help. I can’t live an angry offended life, that is not the life you want for me. You left your peace and I am working on claiming that while letting go and forgiving the offender. Please Lord, minister to the heart of this person. Their walk contains trials that are not known to me but you know what they are going through. Touch them. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Not Loving The Things of The World

[ On Not Loving the World ] Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

1 John 2:15-16 NIV

Recently my phone all but stopped working and after factory resetting it I saw a definite improvement in function. Still, I found myself looking on Amazon and eBay for a possible used or refurbished replacement until my contract was up and I could upgrade in April. Then…I caught myself….it’s working like it did the first year I had it right now….I was just looking for a new phone….yep…that’s what I was doing.

Abba, I thank you for the blessings you have given me that I feel I do not deserve. I am thankful for my phone that is working great after the reset, the phone that allows me to keep in contact with the schools and doctors. I pray for guidance Lord, I only want to be closer to you and to do your will. I ask forgiveness for my greed and selfishness. In Jesus Holy name I pray, Amen.

Stressed Out Family – My Prayer

 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. – John 14:27

Abba, oh Father! These past few weeks have been so stressed, with one thing after another! First, my mom began her chemotherapy. She had an allergies reaction to one of the strong chemo doses and her throat swelled shut. They say that the only strong chemo option may be the one mist harmful to her body because if this reaction. I pray Abba, touch her and all her are around her, hold my mommy in the palm of your hand Abba. I know you were with her and you held her than, thank you.

Then, the car breaks down! You were here again for us. We are blessed that its almost fixed and we had the finances to do so.

Next, my phone; the cell phone that all the schools and docs call. The phone that is a lifeline some days for our special needs child, totally messed up on me. Missed calls and messages, freezing; horrific. Factory reset and prayer 72 hours ago and it is going like it did when new.

Abba, I thank you for the many times you have held my family in your palm, I thank you for your peace. I ask only to be closer to you. I know in drawing closer to you that you will guide me, help me be what it is that you see I can be. In Jesus Holy name I pray, Amen
